This Privacy Policy explains how Strive.FM, Inc. ("Strive," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Strive driver app for Android or iOS (the "Driver App"). It applies to drivers who play music and earn rewards through Strive. If you use Strive as an artist or run campaigns, the Strive Privacy Policy covers that platform.
When you sign up we collect your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. We use Firebase Authentication to manage your login.
The Driver App collects your device's precise location during active driving sessions only. Location runs through an Android foreground service with a persistent notification, so it is always visible when a session is live. We use it to verify that sessions happen during real driving and to enforce session compliance, and we store it as part of your session records.
We do not collect location when no session is running, and the Driver App does not request "all the time" or background location permission from your device.
To play music, you connect your Spotify account. We receive your Spotify profile (display name, email, and subscription tier) and the authorization tokens needed to control playback on your device. Spotify's own Privacy Policy governs Spotify's processing of your data.
During sessions we record the tracks played, impressions, streams, skips, volume level, and session duration. This is how your rewards are calculated.
Payouts run through Stripe Connect. Stripe collects and processes your payout account details; Strive does not store your full card or bank account numbers on our servers.
You may choose to connect a rideshare or delivery account (for example Uber or Lyft) through Argyle to verify that you drive. If you do, we receive your verified identity and driving-activity statistics from that platform. This is optional — you decide whether to connect it, from Settings.
We collect your device model, operating system version, a push notification token, and crash and diagnostic logs so we can keep sessions running reliably.
We use a small number of service providers to run the Driver App. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and the Driver App shows no ads. We share personal data only with the service providers listed above, and where required by law. Artists and customers see aggregated, de-identified listening statistics — never your identity.
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and stored on servers hosted by Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services in the United States, with access limited to those who need it to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
You can delete your Strive driver account at any time:
Deletion removes your profile, contact details, Spotify connection, and location history. Records of completed payouts are retained where we are legally required to keep them (for example, for tax purposes), and are deleted when that obligation ends.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, request a copy of your data in a portable format, or object to processing, by contacting hello@strive.fm. Requests are free and answered within one month. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
The Driver App is for drivers aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top; for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email.
